FAQS


What should I bring?
You will want to bring casual wear, a bathing suit and personal care items.  As access to the sites and waterfront are via rustic trails, rain gear, performance wear and hiking boots are recommended.  Each cabin is designed to deliver hotel-like amenities, with bed linens,  soaps and shampoos provided.

Are meals provided?
You are responsible for your own meals. Each cabin is equipped with stove top, bar fridge, BBQ, cookware, dishes, coffee, and basic cooking staples.  Fresh eggs from our coop and produce from our gardens are provided. Pine Brae is located within 30min of Perth, Westport and Smith Falls, heritage towns offering a variety of options for dining out.

Can I park at my site?
The sites are accessed by foot from the communal parking lot.  Your host will be available to bring luggage to your site. 

Are Children allowed?
Guests of Pine Brae must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Can I bring my dog?
Pets are not permitted at Pine Brae.

Is there a grocery store nearby?
Pine Brae is ideally located between the fully serviced towns of Perth and Smiths Falls.

Do you have Wifi?
Wifi is not available on site. Cell phones do get moderately good service depending on your provider.

How much electricity can I use?
The solar panels generate enough power to run lights, refrigerator, ceiling fan, and recharge electronic devices. Please do not bring electric hair care devices or irons.

Are there ticks on the property?
There are ticks in the area. It is recommended that guests stay on the trails  at Pine Brae and avoid walking through brush or tall grass. Bug repellent containing DEET is recommended. 

What if I need help?
Your host is on site and is available as much or as little as you would like 24 hours a day.

What is your cancellation policy?
90% Refund within 30 days of reservation date. 50% refund up to 14 days prior. Reservation is non-refundable within 14 days of arrival date. Should Pine Brae be mandated to close due to Covid-19 restrictions a full refund will be issued.

Covid-19 Protocol?
During these difficult times we are open under best practices and following the recommendations of the Hotel Association of Canada for Covid -19 prevention. 
Key changes to our service to meet these needs include:
  •  Sanitizing with peroxide solution (emphasis on high touch areas)
  •  Removing board games from the cabins (bring your own for rainy days)
  •  Providing hand sanitizer in each cabin
  •  Assigning a specific kayak paddle to guests 
  •  Your host will not handle your baggage and will be wearing a face mask when greeting guests
